'Hail, Ceasar!' claims second place while 'Deadpool,' despite losing its crown, becomes the sixth most successful superhero film in the U.K.

After a three-week stint at the top of the U.K. box office, Marvel's raunchy action-comedyDeadpool has finally been dethroned. British audiences instead turned to a film in which famous landmarks in their own capital city get blown to pieces.

Despite mostly unfavorable reviews, Lionsgate's action sequel London Has Fallentopped the local box office in its first weekend with $4.5 million, over $1 million more than that of its predecessor, Olympus Has Fallen.

The Gerard Butler-starring thriller's time at the top could be short-lived, however, with both Kung Fu Panda 3 and The Divergent Series: Allegiant hitting screens this week and likely to dominate.

Scoring their fourth-highest U.K. opening, the Coen Brothers' comedy Hail, Caesar!landed in second with a healthy $2.2 million.

Dropping 50 percent in its fourth week,Deadpool added an additional $2.1 million to its local potty-mouth pot, now standing at a sensational $48.2 million, making it the sixth most successful superhero title of all time in the U.K.

Having failed to spark box-office glory in its first week, Grimsby (released in the U.S. as The Brothers Grimsby) slipped further — not even Sacha Baron Cohen's ongoing antics in the U.S. could stop the comedy's drop — adding just $1.1 million for a cume of $5.1 million.

Rounding out the top five, Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip added just shy of $800,000 to bring its four-week haul to $21.8 million.

With some Oscar-winning fire in its belly, The Revenant enjoyed an eighth week in the top 10, with $480,000 securing it the seventh spot (for a total of $31.9 million), closely followed by fellow Academy victor Spotlight, which reached $7.7 million thanks to sixth-week receipts of $477,000.
